Non-dimensional Cities – I

The Non-dimensional Cities

A city is a concept that embodies the ultimate illusions and contradictions of the modern-day. It holds these illusions and paradoxes intensely—a place existing between reality and dream. In other words, it is a chaotic stage, blurring the lines between these two concepts. This chaos, however, represents another form of order—a structured disarray that reveals itself in subtle ways.

The city operates with various mechanisms and houses dynamic centers within its borders. The idea of dimension, in fact, is deeply intertwined with the concept of perception. Here, dimensionlessness does not imply a literal absence of dimensions but rather reflects an inability to perceive structure or spatial limits. This inability shapes the perception of space and form, creating a sense of boundlessness within the city.

The concept of the city here reflects group settlements where diverse communities coexist and share their lives. It is a network of neighborhoods where inhabitants are deeply impacted by political and economic structures, while visitors are often drawn to its regional and cultural values. The city holds layers of different contexts within its ever-evolving realm, and each layer represents another dimension within the continuous and boundless experience it offers.
